What are Space Frames?
Space Frames represent the ultimate in aesthetics & engineering efficiency in structural systems. Behind its elegance and simplicity lies its structural capacity to achieve extremely long spans.

They are assembled from linear elements, so arranged that the loads are transferred in three dimensions. Broadly, a space frame often takes the form of a flat or curved surface.

They are assembled using two factory-produced components: connectors, such as CNC machined spherical or cylindrical node connectors and chord elements, such as rectangular or circular hollow sections, assembled at the site using relatively unskilled labor.

Why Space Frames?

  • Architecturally elegant means of covering large column free spaces with flexible work layout for variety of applications.
  • Completely pre-engineered and assembled at site using prefabricated components to eliminate site welding that results in uncertain quality.
  • Can be installed over operating facilities with least disturbance and downtime.
  • Light, structurally efficient and use minimum of materials to maximum structural
    advantage, and hence cost-effective.
  • Savings in foundation cost due to large column spacing.
  • Utilities such as lightings & air-conditioning ducts can be conveniently accommodated
    in the space frame itself.
  • Floating platforms can be hung from any joint for flexibility during erection and mainten.
